A healing space for your inner light.

My path to becoming a therapist was anything but linear. Before becoming a registered psychotherapist, I spent six years overseas as a special education teacher in Hong Kong and Vietnam. While I loved working with kids, my time in the school system led to feelings of exhaustion, depression and immobilization. While I recognized an imperative need for change and knew this path was not sustainable, I struggled to find a way out.

With the support of a great therapist, I slowly reclaimed aspects of myself that had been numbed for so long. I took a leap of faith and decided to go back to school to become a psychotherapist. This was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I hold a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Education from McGill University. As a Registered Psychotherapist, I undergo clinical supervision with a seasoned psychotherapist, ensuring that your care is of the highest quality.

Outside of the therapy room, you can find me indulging in psychological thrillers, traveling somewhere exciting, trying new vegetarian restaurants in the city, or hanging out with my beloved rescue dog, Penny.

Hi, I'm Kailey Citron.

ABOUT ME

My Approach

This is the essence of my therapeutic approach – to create an authentic therapeutic relationship grounded in trust and deep care. Therapy does not have to feel intimidating, clinical, or sterile. In fact, it should feel the opposite!

In our sessions, we will dive into what matters to you. We will shape the process to align with your individual needs and goals. While therapy does take work and will stretch your comfort zone; together we can get you to where you want to be.

I believe that good therapy should feel like you are in the presence of someone who genuinely respects and cares about you.

Fit is so important in therapy. Let’s connect for 15 minutes, to get a feel for what it would be like to work together. I love meeting new people and would love to hear from you!

What happens in the 15 minute consult?

You can think of our consult as a no-obligation meet and greet. You can share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with. We can discuss what’s bringing you to therapy along with any hopes or concerns for starting the process. I am also happy to answer any questions you have about me and my practice.

Where are you located?

I am located at 313 Danforth Ave in Toronto, Ontario. I have a cozy therapy office and also offer online sessions to clients who would prefer to meet from the comfort of your own home.

What type of therapy do you practice?

I use a variety of therapeutic approaches to make sure that your therapy suits you and your needs. I am grounded in and incorporate Somatic Experiencing, Attachment-based therapies, and Internal Family Systems.

Can I do a mix of online and in-person sessions?

Absolutely! Just let me know what you preference is and we can find the optimal mix.

Will my insurance cover our sessions?

I am licensed as a Registered Psychotherapist by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Our sessions should be covered by any insurance plans that include psychotherapy services. If you are not sure, I recommend that you call your insurance provider to inquire about your coverage.
